We are a Third-Party Driver Recruiting Company. We work with over 50 different carriers helping them find qualified drivers to fill open jobs they have.
My name is Laurie Knighton. I'm 56 years old, a wife, a mother of 3, Stepmom of 3 a nana of 2 and a small business owner. I have been self-employed since 2010. I remarried in 2014 to Richard who had been a truck driver for 36 years. I was lucky enough to go out with him quite often. I've been Coast to Coast and into Cananda hauling paper rolls, running intermodal, hauling 80' tailer houses out to oil fields, and heavy construction equipment. My husband taught me how to drive, so that I could help him with hooking and unhooking the trailers. I could handle a 10 speed all the way up to an 18 speed.
One thing I noticed was how truck drivers were treated and I just didn't like it. When it came to eating, whether it was in a truck stop or cafe, the food was always awful, and the owners didn't care. They knew a driver had to eat and would eat it no matter how bad it was. Most drivers just wanted to make a decent living and provide for their families.
